Less than a week to Kili! It is a dream about to come true. I am incredibly excited and I feel that I am ready to climb! I reviewed and double checked that I am taking with me all the things suggested by our Kili Sister L-A, and I realized that for this adventure I also need to take with me lots of energy, happiness, tolerance and most importantly respect for myself, for others and for the environment. Going upstream.

How many days are there in a year? Most people would answer 365 days, I would say: it depends. I was born on the 29th of February, a leap day that only occurs once in four years to keep the calendar aligned with the sun’s position.[1] As a child I was very much annoyed by it. As mentioned in my previous blog, living in the Netherlands does limit the my training opportunities. Since patience is not my middle name, training in the gym has never inspired me to give my all. In my opinion a view and a companion is not too much to ask for, is it? In addition, putting my social life aside to spend hours walking on asphalt roads did not seem very attractive either. As part of the “psychological” preparation for the Kili climb I was recently inspired to look for some resources on the topic of women and leadership. There is a ton of material available; especially McKinsey is playing a major role here.
