RSM MBA for me so far!

Posted by in Student life

I am really excited to write this first blog post about my MBA experience. Though a little late (3 months over), I am glad I decided to pen down my thoughts before the second term starts and I become extremely busy again, just like term1  :) . So far it’s been a roller coaster ride, you get in, you feel that was the most exciting decision you made, and then you begin long trek up, admire the scene around, just before plunging down like a free fall, without actually falling, you get up and it all starts again! My term 1 experience mirrored those feelings. MBA at RSM is giving me an opportunity each day to experience and experiment in a low risk environment. Surrounded by the most multicultural lot I have ever been with, I am learning how different we are in many aspects and still so similar in our ambitions and goals, which is why we all landed at RSM. Everyone in the class is an expert in their respective fields, everyone is a future Leader. Managing and/or Leading a given team of future managers and experts from this lot, is the challenge :) .

And amidst all this, we always make room for entertainment! I would not be exaggerating if I say that the MBA13 class can have a helluva party when they want. Students turning up in fancy 70’s costumes on the last exam, is an understated example of how we never lose even a single moment to have fun! A Ski Trip, just after the school holidays started,  was icing on the cake and gave  all of us a great opportunity to bond together outside classrooms, and the byproduct was a RSM Musical evening, Crazy Bar be Cue night, Ski Lessons from peers, all that and much more in just 6 days!

The second term is going to start soon in 3 days, and I can’t wait to see the 104 champs again, fully recharged, ready to start it all over again, with new experiences from past and new hopes for future. New teams, new courses, new bonding’s and new parties, everything will be fresh, and we are more matured and more learned with last term’s experience, it’d be an excellent combination I’m sure.

And for me,there is much more to look forward to in this term, the Rotterdam Marathon where we will be running to strengthen the global footprint of RSM, the MBAT  competition, where I hope we make a great Salsa and Squash team together and win a medal this year, the Queens Day Trip, My new Dutch Language Classes, and Of course ramping up the activities for Consulting and Strategy Club which I am chairing this year!

I’ll keep this blog updated with my experiences with new term, and my expectations from myself are much higher this time, to be better and make others feel and perform better. I will succeed!
