The MBA experience, pre-MBA
Posted by Joris Wiemer in Student life
So at a certain point you may conclude that there’s a gap between where you are and where you want to go in your further career. In my case from external relations at a sustainability not for profit, to developing sustainable strategies in a business. My bridge of choice went by a three letter acronym: MBA. Ironically I’ve been assured that my life and career aims are likely to change as a consequence of actually doing an MBA, so who knows where the bridge will end up leading! Enrolling in an MBA program was certainly not a choice made without…

After Term 1 skis and parties!!!
Posted by Mauricio Pardo in Student life
Time flew by and, after a hectic two-week period of assignments to handle and final exams to present, Term 1 is officially over for the Full Time MBA13 Class. Only three months have passed by since I started my MBA at RSM, and I already feel I have accumulated a considerable amount of knowledge and exciting experiences. Maybe this break is a perfect time to step back a little bit and try to put them all together. More than six years have passed since I ended my Bachelors Degree, so coming back to the students way of life was rather…

2nd week at RSM….
Posted by Yuriy Kamaletdinov in Student life
Hi guys! It’s my second week at RSM and I can tell you that it’s amazing!! So many new people and new things to know and to do! I am particularly impressed by the quality of our professors – they all really passionate, well-know experts in their fields of study. I enjoy listening to them and reading their articles before and after lectures. They have already made me aware of many issues that I did think before. Today we had a lecture of prof. Karen Stephenson – a leading expert in organizational networks. That was really worthy to attend! Speaking about our…

It started!
Posted by Anna Grigoryan in Student life
The first two days are over, they flew away in like two minutes. Sitting in front of the monitor I can hardly imagine the intensity and gigantic wave of emotions we went through in these couple of days. We are still in the bright honeymoon period with RSM, and I am trying not to think hard about the next week and coming academic tension, as my sleep hours are already down to 5/per night and the under-eye concealer is already my best friend in the mornings. They say, it will get worse, but isnt it the reason I am here…

NY, 4 a.m. Although yet another early birdie day, I am excited, as today I will move from the Capital of the World to the other News Capital down south: Washington DC After a nerve breaking experience at Penn Station last spring, I decided to take the plane from JFK to Washington Dulles this time. To share my Amtrak agony in short: non refundable pre-paid e-ticket bought by credit card. E-mail confirmation which clearly stated: THIS IS NOT A TICKET, so: Ticket issue at one of the stations Amtrak printing kiosks. On the day of departure, printing kiosks at…

Dear all, Greetings from sunny Holland :) Yes, surprisingly it is sunny these days. I come from, what they call way up North so my weeks long holiday after first term was pretty rainy, muddy and cold, I am therefore glad to be back to enjoy the beautiful spring that Holland is spoiling us with. For those of you that are planning to come to Holland from tropical conditions though, do start to prepare yourself for a cold winter )). I heard many Indian people complaining that 0 degrees Celcium is freeeezing. Well, I would argue that since I come from…
