MBAT!!!

Basketball team

Before starting the MBA program I was told the MBA Tournament (MBAT) would be one of the highlights of the MBA experience, and having just returned from 4 days in Paris, I could not agree more. Wow! Good times! Loads of sports, cheering, parties and fun fun fun! I had a blast! And I feel so much more bonded with my classmates now. 14 schools participated in this tournament. In previous years this only included European business schools, but this year Harvard even joined from the US to play football/soccer of all things (and they won!). A great atmosphere existed…

My trip to Washington and NY…

Posted by in MBA Admissions blog

There is always a great feeling when you travel, even if it is for business. I particularly love to meet different people and experience new views & cultures. Thats why I love my work at RSM! We are here for business people, we  help in accessing and counseling their careers and most important are part of the interesting personal lives of so many students and alumni. This network is amazing! My trip started off in Washington. It was like any other trip without any hassles or problems, however it was slightly different this time.  I arrived on the day of the Super Bowl XLVI ,…

Posted by in Student life

I’m so excited! I just cannot hide it! Aha aha aha… Now I’ve got that tune in my head. Last time I wrote about my becoming and how I decided on RSM. This time I thought I’d write to give some insight into my journey to get from Johannesburg to Rotterdam. There were just so many things to keep me occupied. So let’s start at the beginning (after the end that is). The RSM MBA application process in itself was daunting, having to write the essays, getting the references in place, filling in the forms, acquiring supporting documentation, it did…

MBA Real Life Part 9

Posted by in Uncategorized

My MBA is coming to an end. I have now completed my consulting elective as well. I must say, I am loving my electives. Consulting was great, our teacher is a partner in one of the leading consulting companies and since consulting is my first choice for my future career, I was fascinated. The course was not what I expected but it was great from a totally different perspective. It talked a lot about role of partners in consulting company and the role of the consulting as opposed to case cracking tips I was expecting. But I think it as…

MBA 11 Real Life 3

Posted by in Uncategorized

It is been a while since I have written in here. This is what they say – Term 1 and 2 are the most difficult and challenging ones and right now term 2 is coming to an end. Just to give you guys an idea – we have exams in 2.5 weeks and we have 3 parallel group projects (10-20 pages each) and 2 individual assignments as well as reading for lectures – which means back to 12h working days. So for those of you who have been in consulting, I guess it is normal =) For others, it is…
